Telangana to Prioritise Local Filmmakers in New Chitrapuri Housing plots
Hyderabad: Minister for Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has informed that Telangana residents will be prioritised for new housing plots in Chitrapuri, a designated area for film professionals.
Speaking at a programme after attending the oath-taking ceremony of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce's Executive Body here on Monday, the Minister said the State government was committed to promote the film industry within Telangana, emphasising its desire to support local filmmakers and boost the regional film ecosystem.
He highlighted that the film industry is not exclusively for a select few and praised the contributions of Telangana-based filmmakers, referencing notable productions from Maa Bhoomi to Balagam.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy asserted that the State's vision is to see the film sector grow and thrive in Telangana, stating, "The Telangana government is determined to develop the film industry. I extend support to small filmmakers, especially those looking for theater space."
Reaffirming the State government's plan to allocate 800 square yards of land to the Film Chamber of Commerce, he ensured that Telangana residents receive priority in the new housing developments within Chitrapuri colony.
The Minister also extended his congratulations to Ramakrishna Gowda, who has been elected chairman of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce for a sixth term.
He commended Gowda’s dedication to supporting the film community in the Telangana State.
